Default Best ship for repaint to HMS Surprise?

What would be the best ship of the existing one for a repaint of HMS SURPRISE. L'Unité or the HMS Unite?

    Thanks

What colour scheme and details are you planning on using?

I have found pictures of the replica that was created for the movie, so I will base myself on that

Hi all, This is my first post here, but I was also going to create the famouse HMS Surprise as it was the captured L'Unité.
I fist thought AHA, lets use the the Concorde and make up a new card for her.
In actual fact HMS Surprise was a French Unité class corvette launched in 1794 and was much shorter than the Concorde class frigate.
The Unité Corvette was 129ft long but the Concorde was 143ft long.
I decided this is too big a difference so have shelved my plans for the moment.
Hoping that Ares release a Corvette in the 3rd release.

    Cheers

    Tim

So I ran the numbers on the movie "Surprise" and did a layout to build from at 1/1000" scale. Does anyone have the info to make a base card? Or rather which chip out there is equal or near enough?

Here's some info on HMS Surprise for anyone wanting to try to model her.

So the drawings are set, still need to have a base for her, is there a comparable one out there? I am definitely in strange waters here . . .

If you are doing anything on the Surprise then I'd recommend this book:

    http://www.amazon.com/The-Frigate-Su.../dp/039307062X

although I would also recommend shopping around as the price listed here is a bit "steep" (I got mine for a tenner in a remaindered bookshop in the UK)

Yep. Nothing like spending $162.00 to paint a $15.00 model.

Try http://store.anovabooks.com/index.ph...-surprise.html they show it for £30.00

OOPS! No wonder the price is low. They're out of stock.

See if your local library has an interlibrary loan program, or if you know of anyone at a university, they might have access to such a program. In Illinois, any student, or faculty or staff member can request books from most any academic library in the state, and have it delivered to their school within days.
