I set up Sunday at the local game store more to generate interest than to pay exact attention to the basic rules. This is what I discovered.
1. British ship names on page 57 don’t match British ships in box.
2. Wind gauge thingy can be store in the box. Oops forgot the wind gauge rule.
3. You need a regular size game table to play. I placed the mats on each end of game table and barely had enough room to play and record.
4. Which ship is firing into which ship? I think at one point the French frigate fired into itself. Alright I think the French SOL fired into the frigate too. Note to self, keep track of who is firing into whom.
5. Reefs and shoals get in the way. I didn’t use the damage rules. Just placed a different card to avoid them.
6. Leave the special damage counters in a clear Ziploc bag makes it easier to drawn from.
7. Pack away the ship counters, log, cards, and ship as soon as it is sunk.
Results: Both Frigates and the French SOL were sunk. The British SOL only had 3 damage slots filled and 5 crew damage slots filled.

Yes. Go a retired guy who mention he just returned from a con. Said he be at the game store this afternoon till closing. I hit it after supper and dropping my wife off at the gym.
