    Default damage tokens

I have played 1 on 1 so far but if a lot of people want to play or if you have to control more than 1 ship does anyone see the possibility of running out of tokens? are there going to be more tokens to order?

1 set of tokens is good for about 6 ships. After that you will want to add another set.

Or laminate the ship logs and use grease pencils (returning the chits to the cup or bag, etc. )

I use dice and laminated ship logs, although of my own design.

Lamination is the best idea as I have used it often.

How are you laminating them? Is it a machine you can buy?

Yes. I got a machine from Staples. It was a nice one on sale for about $100. They are always having sales on the laminators but usually not all ofthem at the same time. So check their website.

Thanks, yeah will do. I like the idea of laminating them and being able to write on them with a dry eraser. Makes sense.

For a con, I'd be tempted to print out several scans of the ship logs and just have players use those, mark 'em up and throw away when done, or again the laminate-and-grease-pencil-or-dry-erase-marker method. Anything that reduces setup, takedown and cleanup is a good thing... :)

The other neat thing is, if you scan them you can use them as templates for house-rule custom logs modified to represent various rearmaments and other modifications, as illustrated over in David Manley's "House Rule - Carronades" thread. You might take a look at HMS Egmont as listed there, and try running her against two French frigates... she's another Slade 74 and a real beast in close, but if you can stay out of range of her carronades you can take her apart. (There's a reason she was only so fitted for around ten years, maybe less... and I'd love to have the feedback about the revised armament stats from playtesting, since mine's still on the truck and I don't have a group to game with. :) )
