    Default 8 Gun Schooner - GHQ 1:1200

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share a few more photos of another recently completed model. This one is GHQ's 8 gun schooner. I had my Great Lakes project in mind, but of course this type of vessel could be found all over, so it should prove good and versatile. I'm looking forward to trying out some of Langton's schooners too - they offer more varieties, including some with pivoting guns, which will be nice.

I did this before trying out the paint brush bristle method of rigging, so this is rigged with nylon thread. I replaced the bowsprit and both masts with brass rod to make it stronger.

Lots more pictures here if you're interested:

    Regards,

For comparing sizes, here is the schooner shown with a 14 gun cutter and a 32 gun frigate, all from GHQ.

Great job on the models. The photos don't show just how small those models actually are. Fantastic job of detailing on something that small.

Outstanding work once again James. Your game table and available vessels must make for some exquisite games.

Seeing the size of the SOG ships today at 1:1000 and bearing in mind that those were frigates and SOLs, i am amazed at the detail that you have been able to paint on these! As with all your builds I've seen, they look museum quality.
