Mine is a common tale. I pledged at KS, heard of this site about the same time, checked it out and signed up soon after.

Strong evidence supports this theory.
KS came first then my membership here. Just before the big spike; 4-11-13.
Was busy over the holidays and not keeping up with the Aerodrome site when the Anchorage kicked off in Nov 2011. Joined in Jan 2012 when I found the site was up and running.

1st column for me as well, just mind you 29th Nov! Two years have gone fast indeed, I wonder if I will have a ship in hand for my second anniversary?
I joined after the Kickstarter. I expect that more people will join after the actual game materials are released.
I joined in Januar 2013, but I new this forum longer before...and I agree with Naharaht; more people will join after having an own game...
Second-left column -- I was delayed a bit, or I'd have gotten in when it first kicked off.
I actually lurked a bit first.
OK, for a year and a half; I'm not naturally a joiner.
...and straight on till morning.
I think it was people finding Wings because of X-Wing. (I did near that time.)
After watching one to many Hornblower movies, I started looking for a naval table top and found SoG. I started lurking on this side before deciding on taking part in the KS at the last moment. By the way, it was this forum and the people here who convinced me in the end. I lurked for some more time until I decided in June to join.
We do have a group of really great sailors here!

Looks like I got lucky #7.
I joined in December of 2012, but something tells me that is not it.
As for the Anchorage, January of 2013. I did my basic training with Uli (Jack Aubrey).
