Hey Sven that's a great book I picked up quite cheaply as well recently. The diagrams and cut aways make things very easy to understand not just for beginners!
It seems to be 'out of print' but second-hand copies seem to be readily available.

...and I found out, that my favourite starting position on a 1st rate would be an enseigne de vaisseau or lieutenant de vaisseau.
(I know the carrer is steeper with an early own command on a frigate or a corvette)

I bought that book about 15 years or so ago. Learned a lot. Wish I could find it or remember who I loaned it to.
