    Default Onboard the Constitution

Spent the day on Friday onboard the Constitution. A good friend and shipmate asked me to speak at his retirement. The ship looked really good. Even better then when I was aboard a year ago. Freshly painted and sails on the masts. Getting ready for her underway. Not to mention the perfect weather! I hope to have pictures soon. Being in the cermony I could not take any. When I do I will post them.

Steve, any pictures you have from any time onboard her would be most appreciated. I hope one day Sue and I can tour her.

Kudos on the honor of being asked to participate in your friend's retirement.

I have pictures on my page of my last visit. We were able to crawl all over the ship and see parts the public does not get to see.

Great pictures, Steve. Very cool you were able to view off-limit areas and share the pics. She is a beautiful ship.

Awesome pix Steve. Wow, you can really see the pressure on the bow sprit. I was wondering, do they still use holy stones on the decks?

Those are great pictures. Somehow the ship seems smaller than I imagined it would be.

Looking back at those pictures I forgot what a crappy day it was. I look forward to getting the pictures from last Friday. The weather was spectacular.

I remember a similar feeling when touring a sub at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. At 6'4", I am glad I chose the Air Force.

Again, thank you for your service.

Is the U-505 still there? I remember seeing it in the 50's. (yes some of us are that old) Not many, but some.

So, did anyone make it to the tall ships at Navy Pier this year? I had an obligation for that week and couldn't make it.
