Default On this day 8 August - a cutting out expedition

On the 8th of August 1808, a cutter and jolly boat from the HMS Porcupine - 24-gun post ship under the command of Henry Duncan - cutout the Concepcion from the island of Pianosa, near the coast of Tuscany, Italy. The expedition was led by Lieutenant Francis Smith. The Concepcion, a 4-gun ship, was under the protection of a tower, a 6-gun shore battery, and soldiers and one of its cannons which were positioned ashore.

On 8 August 1796, off Guadeloupe, the French 38-gun frigate La Vengeance encountered the 32-gun HMS Mermaid, under the command of Captain Robert Waller Otway. The subsequent action was prolonged but indecisive. When the 40-gun British frigate HMS Beaulieu, came up La Vengeance retired to the shelter of the batteries of Basseterre. Mermaid had suffered no casualties; La Vengeance had lost 12 killed and 26 wounded.

I've got it listed in the scenario idea thread. I ran across the event while doing another scenario and went ahead and posted it also. Should be easy enough to do with the models currently available.
