    Default Santissima Trinidad: The Restaurant?l

You find the most amazing things on the Internet!

I've started to read up on the Santissima Trinidad, as that's most likely the next 1/1200 build I'll be working on. In the course of that research I came across a life sized 'representation' of the Trinidad that's moored in Alicante, Spain. Here's the official website for the restaurant/bar and a link to someone's blog after their visit in 2012. Built in 2006 I believe that at one point it may have cruised on the water?

If I ever get to Spain I think I would like to visit; even if it's not an exact reproduction/replica it's rather interesting just the same.

    O.K. Jim,
Its nice, but if you come so far I would stop over in the U.K. first and see the real thing, the Victory.

I imagine it is a first-rate restaurant, and that most of its sandwiches are quadruple deckers.

Insert obligatory jokes about Spanish naval food of the period here. :)

What is the correct spelling of Santissima Trinidad? I've now seen several references, including this restaurant, that spell it with only one 's'. So, is it Santisima Trinidad or Santissima Trinidad?

I want it correct for the label I'm making. Many thanks!

Apparently the Spanish spelling uses the single-'s', so I'd go with that one. (I suspect part of the problem is: Spanish pronunciation would make it sound like a double-'s'.)

Thanks, Chris. The more I looked the more it appeared I've been spelling it wrong. Single 's' it will be.

Don't feel too bad -- think about how you'd pronounce this guy's name, then see how it's actually pronounced: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jorge_Lorenzo . :)

    Jorge Lorenzo -- pronounced "Hor-hay Lor-en-tho".
