Another project for this weekend (or next). I know I have some somewhere. I use to blacken case bottoms when I drilled out primer holes in .38 cases for shooting wax bullets so the primers wouldn't...
When I saw you online, I knew it was the right time to ask the question. I'll give it a try this weekend. Thanks Rory:drinks:
Speaking of ratlines, has anyone come up with the best way to paint them without clogging up the tiny openings at the very top? Even when I dry brush, the dullcoat (spray) still fills in the very top...
Neil, look at the SGN# on the box the ship came in, i.e. SGN104C the HMS Zealous, HMS Superb = Keith's ratline # 104.
Keith, when will the Anchorage start taking pre-orders?
Welcome:beer: from Arizona Vince. The Colonies need more French players.
Will this help?

I'll feel better when you start taking pre-orders.
Brass will do for me also.
I would think ratlines for the 1st rates and sloops would be a bigger seller since 3rd & 4th rates have been out.
Is it possible to go with brass a bit thicker than the last lot?
I also like Rory's & Ken's suggestion about the upper tip of the ratlines being flat instead of pointed.
I'll second that:beer:
Stainless for me if you're still deciding
Much appreciated. Crews are complaining about making them shimmy up the masts to change sail settings.
Wish I could help. I hope there's someone on this or the WOG site that could.
Is there any word on ratlines for SGN106 & 108? You would be the only one producing them for 1st rate 1/1000 ships.
Is that the netting that was sold by Langton?
In my experience in dropping ships, (which is extensive) if it lands on or near the base chances are it's OK. Drop it on or near the foremast or mizzen, you'll have a problem.
I don't think the thin brass helps strength at all. But stainless steel might.
My preference is stainless. Thin brass damages too easily, at least with my ten thumbs.
Has the stainless steel vs brass question been settled yet?
Excuse the pun but, a 1st rate job Jim.:envy::beer:
Dam_ French copycats.:drinks:
+1. I agree with Kipp.
Has Keith said anything about wave 2 ratlines yet? The weak wave 2 masts need all the help they can get. Maybe the ratlines should be made out of stainless steel.
