Happy Holidays to EVERYONE!!! :drinks::singin:
Gotta say, I like your cutters, Dobbs...scratch built?
I don't know, Dobbs. I think they look pretty good as-is. Maybe the next time I post something you'll see your inspiration presented on MY ships. :thanks:
Mike
Hi Dobbs,
I like the way you painted between your masts and sheets, it truly subdues the "plastic" look of the models. I'm going to have to apply that treatment to MY navies.
Thanks for sharing...
As usual, Dobbs, you have thrown together a GREAT AAR!
- Great Scenario
- Great Table
- Great Models
- Great Story
Chewing my fingernails as I wait to see what will most likely be...
So, how many guns does SHE carry?
Your ship; I'm asking about your ship!
Do you happen to have a pic?
Just reviewed your system. Veeerrrry interesting... :thanks:
Hmm...nonslip bases?
So Dobbs, are you near Elkton? Working in Newark, I used to go there all the time (way back) to do title and deed searches for my employers. I also used to get all my "grog" at State Line Liquors!...
Hi Eric,
We once lived in the Trenton area ourselves; after moving up from (are you ready for this?) NORTHERN DELAWARE! We lived in Ogletown and visited the Brandywine area quite regularly back in...
"and she curtsies"
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Chris.
Wow, Dobbs...this is a GREAT AAR!
I really like the scale of the action. How are you able to make it work, since you've covered your table from the outset? How do you track forward...
I've had a number of cases lately where I've had to deal with sinking ships and, rather than hack up a bunch of my ARES models, I wonder if anyone can direct me to where I might find any similar...
As usual, I'm coming into this discussion late so please forgive me for any redundancies.
I try to hold to linear battles (especially when using SOLs) as much as possible, since that was the norm...
A couple months ago I shared another of my wife's Facebook albums pertaining to a game which she and I had played, along with a friend. In her introduction, she pointed out that we'd just finished...
Sorry, I forgot to ask; what rules exactly do you use for a game of that size that can allow a "less than a relaxed 3 hours"? I've got to know.
Yeah, I saw that. :hmmm: Don't know why it happened but hope I fixed the problem.
Good morning everyone!
Following is yet another Facebook Album recently posted by my wife describing a game we played with a friend of ours back in January; a game which we'd expected would carry...
As always, your AAR is eloquent and exciting......and your ships make me green with envy!!! :envy:
Mike
Great AAR Lt. Bush!
As far as Dobbs' "Weight of Shot" rules are concerned, they're EXCELLENT and strongly recommended! I've been using them for years.
When it comes to crew size, I...
As promised, following is the continuation of the sea battle my wife and I had started but couldn't quite finish. To recap, her squadron's objective is to keep my Montagne from exiting the far end of...
Thanks Rob for your greetings and the reps. I'll be posting the remainder of the game in the next few days. This was actually a refresher for the two of us before we host a friend this weekend who's...
OMG! Believe me, you definitely would NOT want to see ME in such a bathing suit!
