Maybe it's foiling, like the America's Cup boats?
Maybe an Errorship...?

This just arrived from Brigade Miniatures. It will be my Fort McHenry. I don't really foresee square riggers dueling in inner city Baltimore, but I've kind of started viewing this hobby...
I'm glad you like it! It is 2 layers of 1/8" foam with adhesive backing that I got from a craft store. Do you have Walmarts in England? How far has the scourge spread?
Perhaps read through the Solo Campaigns under Campaign Discussions for an idea of the kind of adventures that you favor. That will guide you toward the ships that you'll want/need.
Welcome aboard, Calvin, from the top of the Chesapeake Bay.
What do you mean by expansions? There are a number of house rules that have come about over the years.
I favor small frigates and...
Yep, thanks for posting, Chris! I think I'm going to like the frigate. I always thought the Ares one looked beamy.
Good job, Henry! I'm chafing at the bit to receive my ships, but I'm patient. ...
I hope you have seen "The Court Jester", with Danny Kaye? It has Basil Rathbone in it too, and a fencing scene that is hard to beat.
Rum for all! I've been looking forward to this one!
....and an extra round for my fellow medal recipient! Two medals! Good job, Paul!
My pleasure, Admiral! I trust she arrived ship-shape and seaworthy in every way?
That's pretty darned fun reading! James Bond in a tricorn hat.
...but they were back then!
I'm using the stern windows that came with the model, just gently sanded to fit. If you shave across the forward edge of the roundhouse/poop deck, that gets you inside the back of the model and...

Aft deck with a hatch to conceal the line. New paint jobs for both hulls. Boy, the red doesn't show up very well...

It's not that subtle in person.
Yikes! That works out to about 2 weeks of 8 hour days! That is a bottleneck!

Here, I have cut the plastic insert for the flush quarterdeck. I cut it from a sheet of 0.030" styrene.

Bow it's in place. Some filler, and I will know if I've succeeded. If...
Here at the top of the Chesapeake all we have are crab shacks. I imagine you don't want those, ie; Captain So-and-so's Crabs (they do sell beer, so it's kind of a pub).
I love the look of 16th and 17th ships, but when I think of sailing characteristics and firing rates, I think it would be hard to find willing playmates.
:happy:I've suffered at the hands of my AI as well, Anthony. There was a moment when I thought it might go better for me if I'd just try and defeat the AI using my AI.
As a pet owner, I'm used to cleaning up poops.:takecover:

Not liking the strange poop decks on the Hebes and following Jonas' lead, I continue to modify old hulls to be flush decked. One day these will get masts.
Ah, what a pleasure, reading about sakers. I did so much work making an Elizabethan sailing game before discovering SoG. Sakers, culverins, demi-culverins. Such a civilized time...

Here I tried painting a brass muzzle, but I don't think there's enough contrast. Plus, I imagine brass 32 pounders were probably kind of rare.
Aha! So that's Fort Lupin!
