Excellent work as always Julián. A fine looking squadron.
Really beautiful model with outstanding detail and painting. Well done!
Julián, this is a work of art of the highest order. You are indeed the Maestro.
Brilliant work Julián. You have captured the look and feel of a late Medieval carrack perfectly. Congratulations!
Beautiful! This "1/72" model has morphed into a perfect 25/28mm scale ship, great for wargamers of the late middle ages, as your test shots with Foundry medievals clearly show. Nice work!
Julián this will be a very beautiful model. I really enjoy your step-by-step narrative of its construction.
Julián, a beautiful diorama and a great tribute to Don Blas and the excellence of Basque seamanship and daring. I really like the action detail, the sails pierced by holes and the minute crew. Your...
I will be happy to take pictures of Golden Hind alongside Revenge and also San Martin, when she arrives. I have posted Julian's photographs and a few of my own on my Blog:

Thanks Don, this is perfect.

Would it be possible to get from you the hull dimensions of your Old Glory ships? I think your approach to adjusting the model selection and conversion to fit the available Zvezda models is...

I hope Zvezda realizes what a great opportunity they have with this series.

Great use of the available models and you have opened up some interesting possibilities. Did you re-plank the decks of the Old Glory ships? They have huge gratings over much of the deck...
They are Zvezda models for their game "Armada Invincible", however, thoroughly customized by Julian.
Perfecto! This is the San Martin!

Would you be willing to share some photos of your ships including the Old Glory conversions? I am thinking of doing the same thing.

Really coming together now. The deck details and hull are so perfect. Queen Elizabeth I would approve. Of course she'd invest in a privateering venture with the owner at the first opportunity. Ever...
Julian, this is an amazing custom job. The results so far are spectacular. The finished model will be a work of art.
I have posted a few images on my Blog of Sir Oswald Brierly's Victorian interpretation of both Revenge and São Martinho. I'm fortunate to have prints of etchings of both works.

I think the illustration is by Joseph Wheatley. It would be very helpful to confirm the reasonableness if not the authenticity of the colour scheme used in the illustration. It appears to follow the...

Quite right of course. I just wonder if there is a game within a game.
I have been able to find models of some small craft that make HMS Pickle look like a respectable man-o'war!
My Blog contains some images taken at the Jersey Maritime Museum of such small vessels,...
I have posted an article on my Blog about the HMS Cruizer. I just discovered a very nice model of this brig-sloop in St Helier, Jersey. This would make a good subject for a future Ares model, given...
In my opinion, in terms of scale, the 1:1200 models produced by Rod Langton are reasonably compatible with Ares 1:1000 model. For comparison I used a Langton 36-gun frigate and a Concorde Class 34...
This may be a good question for Keith at the Anchorage Store. However other members may have some suggestions.
My goal is to be able to play 1:1200 "Close Action" games on a 1 1/2 inch hex grid...
