Sorry I have been neglecting this thread but I am up to my eyes in exam marking.
Are we looking for coastal ports now or is that a Attachment 24093?
Yes Dave, coastal ports are the new target.
Should be plenty around your neck of the woods.
Rob.
You could of course start with a.....
totally mystic seaport.

Well let us continue with: Attachment 24095Attachment 24096
Sadly, I do not think that they brew Old Nogg any more but it is a great name.
Here is another one from Portsmouth which could not be omitted for a variety of reasons.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Beers had this entry. It was never actually bottled, and you couldn't even buy a growler of it. The ABV tells why:
Billy Budd
ABV: 14.0
IBU: 100
Availability: Limited, Draft Only
Original Release Date: 04/2010
This brew-pub exclusive is a strong brown ale brewed with brown sugar, and dark roasty grain. We created it by combining our Indian Brown Ale, Palo Santo Marron, and an experimental batch of 120 Minute IPA brewed at the Rehoboth Beach brewpub by brewer Bryan Selders.
The name comes from a Melville story of the same name about a big strong sailor in the British Navy. This three thread ale has a deep brown color, with firm bitterness balanced by complex malt sweetness and roasted notes. Great with BBQ, dessert, or your favorite novel.
Serving size: Snifter
This beer should go on tap late the week of 4/26/10 and will be around as long as it lasts.
Due to limited availability of Billy Budd, growlers of this Brewpub Exclusive beers are not available.
Travelling around the coast there is Cromer. Attachment 24099
What is Cromer famous for? Crabs! Attachment 24100

Next to Cromer is Sheringham. When I saw the first of these drinks I thought of you , Rob, however I am disappointed that they are made on Vancouver Island in Canada, not here in Norfolk.
Attachment 24103Attachment 24104Attachment 24105
Vancouver Island is fine Dave.
My sister in law lives there.
Mrs Bligh also just reminded me that her son owns a micro brewery in Vancouver itself. I may have to put into port there one of these days.

This is the statue of Captain George Vancouver (1757-1798) outside the Customs House in King's Lynn. He charted the North-West Pacific Coast regions amongst other places.

Very interesting that one Dave.
I did not know that.

I just noticed that this thread has over 30,000 hits Dave.
I hope that the punters are going on to look at other things going on here as well.
Rob.
It is crazy that it is so popular because this is nothing to do with the game. It is just for fun.
Moving towards you.

A little weak compared to you guys, but for some reason I've been tippling a lot of cranberry-apple and jasmine teas late at night of late... and I don't even frickin' LIKE tea!
Here is one for today and Neil.
Rob.Attachment 24203
I notice that you have not chosen the obvious drink from Tyneside.
There are some more drinks from the Hull area.

Morning Dave.
I thought Newcastle Brown was a bit of a cheat really.
I was trying to find something less obvious.
like your Aviator Ale. I wondered if it should not be Aviatrix Ale in today's world?
Rob.
Mine comes from the Thames today.

I am sure that you are correct, Rob. I do not know whether that was due to political correctness or just ignorance.
Since I have reached my home county, I will stay a little longer to visit Filey.

To carry on our pub crawl around the seaport taverns.....

On the Yorkshire coast there is a headland called Flamborough Head, off which on 23rd September 1779 John Paul Jones in the Bonhomme Richard fought his famous battle against H.M.S.Serapis.

Oh how I miss good stouts ales and bitters. America seems to prefer larger over anything. I'd do anything for a bottle of black sheep.
Another nice find Dave.
Bet that has a good head on it!
Meanwhile I'm doing a review of the Fleet in the South of England.
Just off Spithead.

North of Scarborough there is Robin Hood's Bay, so called because there is a local legend about Robin Hood fighting against a French pirate crew, which was raiding the village.
Attachment 24304Attachment 24305Attachment 24306Attachment 24307
Ah! Robin Hood@s bay. Had some good times there at the Folk Clubs in my younger days.

A bit further north is today's offering.
