On a lighter note, my second birthday under Covid rules came and went.
Here are the presents which I did not open early.
A nice bottle of Pink Gin from Captain Smythe.
Yet more ships and some more KR storage from number one son, plus a CD.

Then there was the largest set of presents I have ever had from Mrs Bligh.
If you can't guess the contents I will post the answer tomorrow.
Yes thanks Bill. Your answer is the nearest so far.
Rob.
Well if I were being serious (so very hard for me) I would guess the long rectangular package contains a halberd, spontoon, or pike....
Good effort chaps.
Later today I will put you all out of your misery.
Rob.
Another parcel arrived today. This time from Bill in the States.
When I opened it, I was speechless, which as some of you will be aware is unheard of for me.
Here was a present which I will prize and cherish alongside the one I have from the Buckeye gamers presented to me when we hosted Karl at Doncaster.
Rob.
So unexpected Bill. Thank you so very much.
Rob.
Very smart, nice one Bill
Well thank you again Bill. It was very thoughtful of you.
Rob.
And for those who could not read what it said on the box. Here is the answer to my quiz.
The slippers also needed a long box becaose they were for wearing when I sail my Algerine Fleet Paul.
Rob.
Special offer. You get four for three this week Bill.
Rob.
Curses! Foiled again. :Arrrr:
Rob.
Late to the party, Rob.
So a belated happy birthday, Sir. :salute:
Question: Those pads that fix the umbrella are filled with water or sand?
I used to fix mine with exposed aggregate concrete slabs. (In case of strong winds...)
Thanks for your Birthday wishes Sven.
Those pads are Cast Iron and weigh 25 kilos each. Should hold in an Autumnal storm in the Bay of Biscay.
Rob.
Awesome gifts Rob! You are indeed a lucky man. Happy belated birthday!
Thanks Vol. I have done very well this year, although not so prolific in ships, I do have Henry's delivery with which to look forward.
Rob.
Another late comer here: Happy Birthday Rob!
Old Rheinbeck Aerodrome is about 30 minutes from my parents house. A wonderful place especially for WoG players and WWI buffs. The show is a bit cheesy, perhaps intentionally! However the museum and flying replicas are quite nice. They have 2 1920s vintage mail planes that take passengers for a flight over the Hudson river. I took my dad for his birthday one year, sadly one was out for maintenance and the other had been hit by a plane on the ground so both were out of action! Someday I hope to get back out there.
Hi Eric,
I live about 30 minutes South of the aerodrome -- my daughter takes me there for the WWI dogfight show every year for my birthday/Father's Day (they fall in the same week), but not this year -- my daughter returned to grad school in the UK about a week ago -- the wailing you may hear down in Delaware is our household's response to that......
Bill
Thanks for the Birthday wishes Eric, and to Vol, as you will see when you look at the Chippy shop, Henry did not keep me waiting long.
Rob..
Happy very-belated Birthday Rob! May your powder be dry, and your gin wet. :drinks:
Cheers Gary, but I like my Gin dry, especially if it is London!
Hope to see you soon, once the rule of six bites again.
Rob.
I thought you like your gin in you!
Oh yes, definitely, which hopefully should be soon.
