A small tribute to a great sailor.

This diorama depicts the capture of the HMS Stanhope of 70 gun by a French frigate commanded by Don Blas de Lezo by 1710.
The Basque sailor maintained a bombardment from a distance with a ship far superior and he made a maneuvre of approaching successfully and assault the english ship. After this action was promoted to captain of frigates.

Yet another piece of fine modelling and painting in such a small scale. What a fine diorama you have produced Julián.
It is almost a pity that the models are not free to sail before the Trade winds in seek of the excitement to be found on the gaming seas of the World.
