After several attempts, which ended in failure and a return to England, on 16th September 1620, the Mayflower finally set sail from Plymouth to transport the Pilgrim Fathers to America.

There were two brothers on the Mayflower with the same surname as mine Dave. As the original pilgrims left from Scroogy just to the north of our family home, I often wonder if they could be related in some way.

I think that there has been a lot of research done on the family backgrounds of the Pilgrim Fathers in the USA, so it might be possible for you to find out whether they were you relatives.
