And here it is in situ along with the sandy beach for the far distant background. That is something I have been meaning to add ever since I did the first lot of sand dunes.

Hi Rob, yes you can add it where it could be useful
Great coastlines by the way, what is the event you are doing? Just thinking as I am in Sheffield so not far from Doncaster. Not sure how covid is going but could be interested in coming over. Never played SoG either so could be good to see how it plays
Would be great to see you there.
My game will be a take on the first battle of Tripoli.
US and Swedish Frigates against the Barbary States.
If interested contact Cheis Hedeby on the Wings Drome he is printing the players name badges and such.
Rob.
Gah, just checked the dates on the wings forum and am already committed to something else on sept 18/19 and wouldn't be able to do the Friday.
Will have to rely on game reports this year and maybe try next year :drinks:
Workbench: Trying to fix an inventory glitch at my retailer and find a McCudden SE5A they were *supposed* to have set aside in Order Hold for me from any source that might still have one. :( I have the feeling this guy is gonna be for my Ares collection what the D.VII's were for the Nexus days...
Hi DB. This lot have them for $15.70 USD. https://rivalsky.com.au/product-cate...-of-glory-ww1/
Evan helped some of us out with the last Nexus D.VII's in the world, but the trans-Pac shipping was a killer. :(
I see that they also have a good range of Sails ships Gary.
Rob.
Somehow I missed Simon’s comment, but I will send him the .stl files this weekend.
I think we can gather up a list of tweaks. I mostly have opinions on the spanker and have tweaked the jibs some.
Magnificent Jonas. Puts my efforts to shame blown up to that scale of magnification.
Rob.
The magnification makes me see my mistakes and want to fix things, but I'm not sure it'll improve the paint job in the end.
Sometimes you just have to decide it's finished.
Also, with the shutdown of Aerodrome Accessories I'm starting to work up a guide on Litko laser-cut tokens that can be of use in Wings or Sails. Some aren't as good as Keith's, but there are times when you have to take what you can get.
Ah yes Rob, I do usually go to Partizan so will see about going in October. Hopefully see you there if so :)
Thanks for sending the files through Jonas, I'll try and get them updated on wargaming3d real soon and then let people know :drinks:
Hope you can make it Simon. It will be great to meet you in person.
Rob.
Amazing paintwork Jonas! You've really brought them to life :)
I've also just updated the masts/sails package with your 1:1000 resized versions so people can grab them. I've added the combined STLs you sent through and have also split them into separate files for ease if needing to do different quantities of each.
Downloadable from https://www.wargaming3d.com/product/...of-sail-ships/
Rob - yes fingers crossed that it goes ahead. If so then I'll likely see you there :)
I began wondering if I should make sure masts were the correct sizes historically and have this in Swedish. I should translate it later.

Another hull.

Cracking on with these Jonas.
I finally got my first Frigate hull completed this evening.
Tomorrow I will try and get the masts painted.
looks like that chart on masts will be most helpful later.
thanks again for the work you are putting in on this.
Rob.
Here is the hull finally completed Jonas. Only the masts and sails to do ,and just two more ships to go now.
Rob.
That was truly great to see. You did a great paint job! I’m so happy it turned out great.
Really nice hull Rob.
I have finished what I think is the last Ildefonso.

Now it’s only San Justo, (San Joaquin), and Bahama left of the 74 gun ship hulls.
Then there’s two 64s, Purisima Conception and six Meregildos and my Spanish fleet will be done.
More excellent work there Jonas, looking forward to seeing the fleet in full
Thank you chaps, and Jonas is doing a splendid job on those Spanish ships.
Well done again sir.
Rob.
Thank you both.
It'll be quite a while more until it's finished, but I'm starting to see the end far away.
I have decided on sails. I have bowsprits. I have the hulls, except for the awaited hulls Simon's working on. I only need more 1 mm wire for the lower masts.
Glad to hear that you are getting things sorted out as you would want them, and look forward to seeing your results.
Rob.
Sorting out? I’m trying to sort out masts…

Just wanted to compare...

Yours look better Jonas!
Rob.
And here she is finally underway.
Here is the ship card for her.
One down and two to go!
Rob.
Thank you, Rob.
That’s a really good looking ship, you have there.
You managed to make the flag too. Nice work!
I have started to work on the big ones now.
Attachment 55674
Flag and pennant mainly due to your guidance Jonas.
Rob.
Yes, but I meant that you managed to cut the tails very well.
If you remember you even gave me a tip about how to cut those!!
So thank you also for that.
Rob.
Today I got started on the other two Swedish Frigates.
Tomorrow I should be able to start butchering a couple of Ares Frigates to get the sails and masts I need for them.
