Hello from Delaware!
Hey guys,
I have been a long time fan of SoG having going knee-deep in the KS campaign and up to about 59 ships or so. This and WoG WWI (since day one) have me pretty much wrapped up in it. I had always hoped that Ares would have published a fleet game play rule set to allow more ships to be used on the table with fewer players, but alas, this hasn't happened yet. I know they mentioned to me a couple years ago that they were looking into it.
Does anybody know if there is enough counters in the bags to handle a larger battle or is it a case that I would need to get another base set to double the numbers? Thanks for a great forum and definitely a kindred spirit here. I don't see Black Seas having anything over SoG personally......

Good to have you alongside Eric. For big battles you have several choices.
We have a set of simplified ship mats in the files which you can laminate and use a board marker to note all your hits etc. Then return the chits to the bags, or you may be able to pick up a spare chits set that is issued from time to time by Ares. Keith may even have some on the Anchorage store. You can access this from the top banner bar on this page. A simple way is just to note down the hits on a bit of paper as you draw the chits.
Hope this helps.
Rob.

Thanks! I actually forgot that I had the extra counters set from the KS. The chits were added to the bag. Duh!

Welcome aboard from the Hudson River Valley. I've had great luck picking up extra counters and ship mats by being attentive to the internet. As a result I was able to run a decent size game at a convention last year.

Welcome to The Anchorage, Eric, from here across the Atlantic in the United Kingdom.

Officially, per Andrea A. the game is designed as one chit set per four ships IIRC (he once told me it was either 4 or 8, but my memory is shot of late). It CAN support considerably more if you do it the Bligh way... :)
