How do solo rules determine enemy maneuvers and actions? Is it completely random?

If you look here you will find Richard Bradley's (Herkybird on the Anchorage) solo rules which a lot of us use with some ammendments of our own :-

Also putting in Herkybird solo rules on our search engine will give you lots of info on variations which we have added to cover chase guns, mortars, landing parties etc.
Simply putting in Solo rules will take yo to many pages of info including examples of the different rules in action.
The most up to date and comprehensive rules for ship moves although not totally about the solo ships are Dobb's set of rules.
I would certainly get in touch with him by dropping him a PM. He has some superb information taken from his own knowledge of small boat handling.
