Will tomorrows game four bring on a much needed British Renaissance or will the French continue to ride roughshod over the English ships and their captains............ We will just have to wait and see dear reader!

Game four.
Game four was a filler for just after lunch whilst all the punters were still very sparse on the decks.
It began with a stern chase from me to close on Chris.
Chris jibed and delivered a broadside at range which did me no good whatever.
It closed three boxes and set me on fire.
Foolishly I continued to overhaul him in the hope of some retribution with both my broadsides double shotted and ready with first fire bonus intact.
As I overhauled him, he fired again.
As can be seen from the ship log this finished me in short order with my ship having two more fires break out burning me down to the waterline even before I had a chance to blow up.
Two broadsides and game over.
Game Five.
The final game of the afternoon witnessed the return of our young captain to do battle with Ruth once more.
Both ships tried to gain a wind advantage, which finally went to Ruth.
As she closed our hero gave her a warm reception with a long range raking shot.
Ruth then came about and both ship closed up.
An exchange of fire from both ships batteries brought the following result.
Ruth getting the worst of it.
The British captain now manouvered to cross the French stern but his gun crews made a bit of a hash of it and very few shots hit home.
The ships now parted company.
And the young English captain just managed to avoid sailing off the edge of the world.
Both ships closed again for another joust.
After another broadside, we had to call time on the afternoon session.
With no clear victor we started to tidy up and Ruth very kindly gave a win to the young English captain, thus giving us only our second victory after a very lean day at the braces.

Great photos! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jonas.
It is not easy to try and run games, explain rules and talk to punters whilst following all the action. This is why the comments are a bit sketchy in places and the pictures seem to jump ahead a bit more quickly than some of the action does.
Rob.
That was great Rob, thanks for the breakdown of the games, looks like you had a good time.
Cheers
Thank you for the report, Rob, and the good photographs.
Thanks chaps. Glad you enjoyed them even though I did not manage to grab all the action.
