Are you O.K. with me using my prize money to refurbish Argonauta for use with my Squadron Neil?
Rob.
Seems reasonable to me Rob.
Of course Rob. Your prize money. Nice addition to your squadron.
Thanks Neil.
I will sail the Action on Thursday as is my norm.
Should be some real fireworks.
I was inclined to rename her HMS Zebra as she had changed her stripes! However, that would have just been a horse of a different colour.
Rob.
OK, after hours awaiting tech support all bugs etc have been removed and I am now clear to start updating the spreadsheet.
That said everyone now has access so you can update your own as you play.
Neil
Cheers Neil and thanks.
Rob.
Having now had a look at the tables, I can't understand where any of the scores for prizes are coming from Neil.
Rob.
Hi Neil
Like our good Capt. Bligh I have trouble with this record sheet. Is there a 'Recording for Dummies' leaflet anywhere?
Try the rules amendments that we chatted about and I published for working out prize money etc. I went back through the sheets and updated right from the start.
Once I get a bit of time I'll post the quick walk through of how to do it.
Thanks Neil.
I'm feeling rather thick today.
Rob.
Here are all the bits of paperwork, now it is just a matter of converting the ship.

Renamed not Zebra but Phoenix. Raised from the ashes rather than just changed its stripes.
Rob.
Here is Phoenix leaving to join the Squadron after her refit has been completed.

Rob.
Thank the Lord for Phoenix and Captain Joseph Porter is all I can say. He arrived in the nick of time unlike Amelia.
What a bloodbath that was with a depleted crew and 100 points deficit to boot.
Dispatches to follow once I have recovered my composure.
Bligh.
Something I've meant to ask now for a while Rob. What are the blue dots on your ships for?
Every ship has its own deck, ship mat, and set of chits for actions Hugh.
Additionally, every card in each deck is marked to match the dot on the ship. So yo may differentiate between the cards in each deck with a different coloured dot.
A D deck for instance starts with red dots to match its ship. The second D deck will have Blue dots, third pink dots etc. This will cover eight D decks without repeats. If I then need more D decks I repeat the sequence in the bottom corner of the Deck.
This makes it very easy to find errant cards which have migrated to other decks, and also ensure that in large solo games you ascribe the correct card to the right ship for movement purposes.
Also when packing up after shows, you can easily differentiate your cards and ships from other peoples.
Rob.
Apologies to all, yet again, I was going g to try and catch up on admin this week but circumstances have again prevented the happening. Dare I say next week!
I dare say you may say anything you like Neil. After all we don't pay you for this job. We are just grateful that you are prepared to do it.
Thank you.
Rob.
It seems that participation in the campaign has dwindled a little. What can we do to bring some of our errant admirals back in the battle and posting some of their aar up?
Post them this painting of Admiral Byng Hugh.

Seriously sometimes real life just gets in the way and we have to accept this. You could drop them an encouraging PM asking if all was well omitting the picture of Byng of course.
Bligh.
Ooooh ok Its a fair cop guv.
I can nly play weekends and been a bit busy past few weeks. i intend to catch up next couple of weeks, so watch this space
It's mostly selfish on my part. I quite enjoy reading the aar.
I understand your pain Chris, I have been busy now almost all of the time for over a month. I forced myself to play a game yesterday and was immediately grateful that I did.
I keep saying next week, next week but something always gets in the way. With the run up to Claymore and Border Reiver plus Doncaster prep and admin I'm pretty tied up until post Doncaster. (Damnation! Hoist by m'own petard and dangling by the gromicles)
:salute: Should that not be barnacles Neil, or have you been grabbed by the scruples?
Bligh.
Yes Rob Barnacle Bill has no scruples to hoisting one by the gromicles or festicles for that matter.
At least it's not the follicles Neil.
Rob.
Talking of next week, do we know who is writing the August scenario yet?
Rob.
Hi chaps I'm one of those guilty Captains who have been AWOL. My May campaign was actually played in May and I have a semi complete AAR on my computer. So I promise to finish it off asap.
I find 4 year olds are absolute plague carriers, nothing but a string of colds this winter.
Haha, I just realized you are in the Southern Hemisphere. As silly as it sounds winter in August is difficult for my mind to grasp. It's in the high 30s here!
Also yes, I have three kids myself, I don't remember the last time I wasn't till.
I played a game today against the AI.
during the first broadside of the game HMS Britannia pounds Le Berwick.
Here is the resulting damage! Le Berwick is destroyed in the first pass.
Attachment 24582
Whats the most damage any of you have done in one shot?
ps, is anyone doing an August scenario?
Did the same as you Hugh, but mine was a bow rake so not as good as your clean broadside.
I asked about the August scenario before I went away last Tuesday, but nobody has answered.
Rob.
I would volunteer but i havent been playing that long and am not confident enough in my ability to write a balanced game :/
edit. according to the schedule Neil is doing it.
That explains things then.
I had the old schedule with a couple of gaps still to be filled in. If it is Neil, he has been away and only returned last week so it will be a bit delayed.
Rob.
By tomorrow night at latest...I promise.
:hatsoff:Good man, and welcome back Neil.
Rob.:salute:
I'm eagerly awaiting your scenarios Neil!
August Solo scenario posted. Hope you enjoy.
Neil
All played AAR's to date are now linked to the relevent scenario in the scenarios thread.
I'm catching up.....slowly.
You are a saint for doing it Neil. You have my undying respect for the hard work you put in here.
