Well done sir.
Bligh.:salute:
As I wrote above just two days ago!
Good work!
Thanks Jonas. I just need another 3350 or so entries to catch up with you and that is if you stopped posting now -- which I hope you do not do because I find your AARs and painting work very inspirational.
Anthony

Rob.:salute:
Thank you. Though I have to say that saddens me a little. I think I started two, maybe three, threads.
I'm glad there's still more activity than the creation of threads suggests.
Congratulations Chris. Thank you for keeping the activity high!
You underestimate yourself sir. It was actually five!
Anyone who starts more than one a week stands a very good chance in these hard times.
Rob.
Thanks and conrats to you Jonas on your. Medal.
Congratulations, Jonas, on being Top Thread starter for June. :salute:
Congratulations, Chris, for being the Top Poster in June. :salute:
Congratulations to both Jonas and Chris for their medals. :salute:
Thank you all for your congratulations. I will wear my medal with pride. :medal:
Congratulations Jonas and Chris! Excellent job keeping interests high.:drinks:
Congrats to all. *hoists bottle of sparkling water*
Hey, SOMEBODY's gotta be designated On Watch! lol
Not really a job for the Comptroller of the Navy Board sir! With your permission I will designate one of the snotties for that job.
Bligh.
It's about setting an example, old friend... sending the message that no job is too small to be important, like in the '90s when the CEO of a large bookstore chain personally hit stores and worked customers one-on-one hustling books to show his people the need to get off their butts and engage with those whose money they needed to earn. :)
Yes sir! Whatever you say sir.:salute:
Bligh.
:hatsoff: Today, we have a belated Birthday present for Chris,Captain Duff, who has been granted his Board by the Admiralty.
Congratulations sir on attaining a place on the Captains' list.
Bligh.:salute:
:hatsoff: On this day Captain Duff also attains the Medal for three years of service and 2,000 posts. :medal:
Congratulations on this award also.

Congratulations to your promotion, Captain Duff. And your medal too.
So... Does the forum have the second swab? The three years seniority?
Jonas.
I think that Keith only did the awards of rank based on a loose system to try and fit all nations. I would also have liked an interim rank of Commodore between Captain and Admiral. It is quite a big jump from 2000 to 5000, especially as we don't get as much chance to add posts as the Drome with its much greater number of posting members. You may have noticed that in the Portrait Captain Duff is correctly dressed for a Captain of less than three years seniority. There is also no record of when you captains made Post so I can't ascribe a pecking order nor dates of three years service as a captain.
Rob.
As you can clearly see on mine I have both the swabs, sitting there in the Captains cabin.
That is a very good picture of you Jonas.
If you look on Chris's avatar so does he. I just did a little doctoring of the picture for the one shown in his award notification post.
Rob.
Aha! Sneaky!
The picture's a bit small and for the future I'll post it here as I may change it again...

Rob.:drinks:
Well done, old chap!
I'll have a port too, thank you.
Thank you one and all, it is always a pleasure to meet such fine chaps in the ward room or Captains table. i will gladly stand you a round of your favourite tipple.

Hi Chris -- I just saw this -- Congrats!
Bill
Hear, hear!
When all this plague has passed I will visit one of your shows and then take a trip to Portsmouth. It's been 35 years since I last visited Victory and if anyone of you fine fellows would care to accompany me I would bring the uniform and make sure to get a few pictures.
That sounds like a really great idea Jonas.
You would be made most welcome my friend.
Rob.
