Very nice ageing of the sails Daniel.
Dry brush work is not my strongest suite I'm afraid so I always applaud anyone who is good at it .
Rob.
Nice work there, well done
As I said in the other thread, Great job!
It adds so much to the real look you're after. Excellent work Daniel.
Thankee Rob! The process is not really that difficult truthfully. The trick for these is a flat broad tip brush and use either a light Ivory or antique white as a drybrush over the wash. Then if I want the sails to pop I'll do a very light drybrush with plain white just on the protruding part of the surfaces of the sails, especially on the top gallants.
I dip the brush in the paint just at the tip and then I use the back part of my thumb just below the nail to luff off the excess paint then quickly lightly dab/brush the paint on. With practice it gets easier.
