  • Fort Corral at Valdievia.

Marking out the ground on foam ready for Fort Corral.

Today I routed out the headland to fit the fort into the cliff face,

The cutting out of the coastline in rough with my Abra saw.

I did get a chance to begin some Terra forming before leaving this morning.

First chance to get back to it today.
More Terra forming in relation to routing a platform for the beach section and then gluing it in place.

    Surface sealed and drying.

With the glue finally dry, this evening I have undercoated Coast, cliffs and beach ready for turfing tomorrow.

Today, more PVA spread and then got the turf laid and basic fine sand on the beach down.

Now more hanging about waiting for it to dry.
    .

This morning I shaded the cliffs and began to add a few bushes.

Bushes trees and rocky promontory added. Just needs to go into the workshop for its final varnishing.

Hi, I'm new here. So how do you change the name of the ships on the ship base? Is there a go-to printout?

      Hi Matthew.
I'm afraid there is no easy fix for the cards.
      I process mine in photoshop.
The chaps will be able to tell you the exact font which can be purchased, but I find that Bell MT Bold is close enough for me if you just compress it a bit.

The font as I understand it is Bondi Condensed or Bondi Condensed Plus.

The thing to do is copy a base plate of the type of ship you want then blank out the current name and then add the one you want.
I believe there is a couple of blanks already in the files, if not pm me the type you want and Ill check my files for you

And you print them out on label paper, I suppose?

I print mine on ordinary printer paper from a colour laser printer.

The font is Bodoni Condensed in Bold I believe. I think it's out there for free or a close relative at least.
I think I use Bodoni but not Bodoni Condensed.

I print mine on Matt photographic paper using an ink jet printer.

As Chris says Matthew, if you get stuck with any special cards let us know. There is always someone who can mackle up most things.

At least you did not need to do any club hauling to get off the lee shore Captain. I look forward to your next log entry.
