I don't really know anything about Black Seas. How does it differ from SoG?

I am also not a Black Seas player, but would like this opportunity to welcome you officially to the Anchorage Jim. I am sure that someone with experience in that quarter will be along before too long to give you a run down on the differences.

From my experience in the US I have seen more people using the 1/700 scale Black Seas ships with other games than playing Black Seas. The Warlord ships are nice models and some of the 3D printed models are even better in 1/700 scale.
Currently I use Kiss Me Hardy a set of fleet/squadron rules by Too Fat Lardies. For Smaller actions I would recommend Sails of Glory with modifications by Dobbs.
