Actual color of ''yellow'' ships

Since I have two of the new starters so I'm re-painting all the four ships of one of them after the ships on the old-starter
I've noticed all ships are ''yellow'' and I wonder if that ''yellow'' should be 'actual yellow' or if it was just an easy way for Ares to re-create a light wood colour (some Albatross D.III and D.V in Wings of Glory are ''yellow'' when they should be wood-grain).

So that is my question for you naval experts: should I re-paint my ships in yellow or, say, raw-sienna or yellow-ochre? (for re-creating wood-like collor I usually print in white and then paint with a mix of raw-sienna and yellow-ochre oils for a light-wood look; toast-sienna for a darker wood-collor).
