    Trivia: Part of the name is because after a collision, she had to have a significant portion of the bow section of unfinished USS Kentucky transplanted - if memory serves most of the way back to Turret A was lost to a collision. Wis{consin) + KY (Kentucky) = "Wisky".

    Indeed she got it 'on the nose'.



    A bit of trivia for me. I was allowed to hand carry the USS Wisconsin silver punch bowl and ladle to an event across the street from the State Historical Society of Wisconsin where I worked for 22 years. Sterling silver is heavy!
