Default Simple AoS Game for Children

Saw this simple age of sail game from the Ukraine aimed at children mentioned elsewhere and I thought some of the readers here may be interested.

    Nice find Dave.
This looks like a perfect game to get young ones into naval gaming.

Maybe we shouldn't be teaching six year olds war games. Just sayin'. But the game looks fun and well thought out. Those ships may be a candidate for smallest plastic ship ever.

We said the same in schools about guns Ken. Having removed them, the kids just made their own from Lego.

    Roy Rogers Prayer

Lord, I reckon I'm not much just by myself,
I fail to do a lot of things I ought to do.
But Lord, when trails are steep and passes high,
Help me ride it straight the whole way through.

And when in the falling dusk I get that final call,
I do not care how many flowers they send,
Above all else, the happiest trail would be
For YOU to say to me, "Let's ride, My Friend."
    AMEN

As to the game, I think the higher probability of scoring hits will attract younger players because there is immediate action, if that makes sense.

As to teaching young ones wargames, while I appreciate what you're saying Kenneth, I think such games could seed an interest in history and provide an avenue for developing certain thinking skills. I am less inclined to question a game like this one than some of the themes I have seen with respect to video games, and that at any age.

Ed, too much of what we were raised with is, unfortunately, corny today. One bright thing I have experienced this semester with my new crop of students is their receptiveness to my teaching them "old fashioned" values and forms of politeness, manners, and respect. As I explained why I thought these things were of value, they recognized it and started adopting them.

If you visit the company website, http://bombatgame.com/en/, you will find that they also produce a more complicated game using the same models called 'Admiral'.

Eric, too bad your method of teaching isn't the norm these days.
