Thank you fellow Officers for your congratulations.
It is a real privilege to serve with you all.
It has taken a while to reach this rank but my maths was never the strongest part of my armoury, and that First Lts. examination had some very stiff navigational questions in it.
Now I'm over that hurdle, i am hoping to get my first independent command before too long.
Wardroom drinks are on me for all you well wishers.
    Regards to you all.
    Bligh.

(With no G&T emoticon on Sales I'm afraid this must suffice.)

I will make sure to study everything about navigation carefully to my own examination then.

Yes indeed Jonas. Your own examination is looming on the horizon even as we speak.
I wish you the best of luck. You may borrow my Sextant if you wish.

That would be marvellous. The one I have is an old cheep one. I hope for us to take a price so I can afford a good sextant before my own command.

At least I have a good glass.

There are a couple in the Ships Chandlers by the Hard going cheaply ay the moment. the widow of some poor Master who fell in the last battle has them up for very little. You might be able to get a part trade in for yours.

Here is one of them by Ramsden. No case I'm afraid, but the ship's Carpenter could soon fix that for you.
