He wants basically a "300 At Sea."

Sorry, Chris, no big "Tonight we dine in HELL!" or "MOLON LABE!" moment for Nelson like Leonidas... :p

A would love a large single battle type film, Trafalgar but would also love to see a film based on Nelson/Collingwood and culminating in the battle of Trafalgar.

I am surprised that no-one has made such a film but I suppose that it would have been difficult to find enough realistic looking sailing ships before computer graphics arrived.

I would like to see a Trafalgar movie along the lines of Tora Tora Tora. If Godzilla can destroy La then a CGI fleet should be easy. All star International cast. Hugh Grant as Nelson. Julia Roberts as Lady Hamilton. Gerard Depardieu as Admiral Villeneuve. John Cleese as Collingwood. No, wait. Wrong genre. Rom-Coms are passe.

You must have Keira Knightly as Lady Hamilton and find parts for Russell Crowe,Sean Bean, Orlando Bloom and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Sean Bean would make a half decent Nelson on the grounds that he'd end up dead

I guess that's why there's Coke & Pepsi. I liked Sean Bean ever since Sharpe's Rifles.

A lot of girls hate me! I've met him (Sean Bean). He is very short! I have told them that he is short. And the girls hate me. He is very nice, but short!

Can he really be much worse than I am at 5' 6"? LOL

Oh wait, he could be Tom Cruise-size... who's a pipsqueak even next to me. :D

    "Still sharp" David!

But yes he does end up dead in just about everything.

Mainly I'm thinking of the two minutes devoted solely to _Victory_ kanchoing _Bucentaure_ with a carronade -- that scene alone will earn it an R rating.

(And if that hammering doesn't do it, there's always the hammering Nelson game Emma.... >:) )

According to the internet Sean Bean is 5'10" & 189 lbs. 15% body fat. Not so short and a good weight.

Just remember, the bigger you are, the farther and harder you fall...

Advantage of being small: you can slide in beneath the big guy's reach, and his vitals are at a more convenient striking height. :D

Small guys are good for gun turrets, submarines and tanks.

I would like to see a huge trilogy about Napoleons Egypt expedition with Peter Jackson as director (...add more sex & crime elements like in Game of Thrones).

Myself in a role as Comte de Bruyes with powdered peruke, winning an academy award as best supporting actor. (Diamondback as Napoleon)

Special feature: A 10 minute slow motion scene how the Orient explodes.

I think a movie short of the fire and mayhem on the Orient followed by the catastrophic explosion would be very powerful. The 15 minute silence and pause in the battle would need to be included in part. I just read an account that there 600,000 pounds sterling on board when she blew up? Is that true?

Not in cash, but in plundered goods from Malta I think.

Haven't my books in range, so I'm not able to give you a better overview (or exact amount) what was lost on board of the Orient.

Not when rather portly like myself. LOL

    (Diamondback as Napoleon)
O.O Oh, the horror... 1. I don't do French accents well, and 2. knowing the kind of scene French would want to see, I'm not sure any actress who could play Josephine would really be the type to enable me to, er, "stand at attention" and "answer the call of duty." Besides, just the mental picture of my hairy, bloated butt should make ANYONE need to break out the mindbleach!

Speaking of mindbleach, as a public service:

And a second dose, just to make sure:

    Now there's a couple crewmates I wouldn't mind taking a weekend sail with... ;)
