Thread: I need a pirate ship name

Default I need a pirate ship name

When my wave 2s show up from the Anchorage, first thing I'm going to do is pimp out one of the heavy frigates to be a pirate ship. My initial cosmetic inspiration shall be Jim's depiction of the Royal Fortune (see photos of his ship below). It might not end up looking exactly like his, but I think the stark red is a pretty cool place to start with wherever I (and my mercenary painting friend) take it.
Now...I'm not basing this on anything historical. It's all fakey Hollywoodized. I need to know what to call this thing. It could be a totally made up name or maybe something cool or simply memorable from a movie, TV show or book.
Please feel free to make suggestions for a ship name.

Crimson Secret, Scarlet Grail, Scurvy Serpent. . .

Not to detract from what others might suggest, but here's a nifty "Pirate Ship Name" generator:

Red hulled pirate ship, for me that's a no brainer the Arabella from Rafael Sabatini's "Captain Blood" very entertaining piece of swashbuckling fiction, with a near faithfull retelling in the Erroll Flynn classic of the same name.

The ship is named for the heroin Arabella Bishop, portrayed by the lovely 19 year old Olivia Dehavilland.

Granted that ship is a galleon, but who cares?

    It's fiction, right?

Read it, watch it, name it!

I am planning on doing a pirate ship called the 'Black Pig' as used by Captain Pugwash.

Now that's a good one that will certainly be at the top of the list. Thanks. Keep 'em coming, folks.

The Scarlet Shark, the Crimson Peril, the Red Devil. However, perhaps something more innocent sounding would be better for when visiting a port, like the Red Rose.

The IRS only take some of your money. Pirates take it all, together with your life, if you are unlucky.

Between federal, state, county, municipal, sales, and every other imaginable tax, it doesn't seem there is much left. Fearing a drift to into the waters of political discussions, I'll stop there.

    Ha.

Unfortunately in our case, Sue might claim that I am the pirate.

Since all the ships have two versions in this game, the thought occurred to me that I can do two names and make a double sided ship's log. My buddy just had a flash of brilliance and the winners are....

It's a work in progress, but I can only hope it looks half as incredibly cool as yours when it's done.
