Default Enemy in Sight! The SGN adventure begins with a blast!

FinallyI managed to gather my gaming group last Saturday afternoon to introduce them to SGN.
My gaming buddy Sławek brought his two sons, Filip (the older one) and Maciek (the youngest), all of them devoted gamers. We play WGF/WGS a lot together.
This time they were surprised (I had told them we would play WGF as usual;)).

We played two battles with the Starter set and basic rules plus some optional ones; 2 (French: Maciek and me) versus 2 (British: Sławek and Filip); Darek, another gamer of my group joined us for the second battle played; 2 (French: Darek and me) versus 3 (British: Sławek and his sons). I added one British expansion frigate to the British fleet.

The first battle ended with French total victory. My SoL and Maciek's frigate won the day. Two British ships were sunk after a fierce battle. Fun was immense.

The second battle was almost a draw. I (SoL)managed to sunk British SoL and the frigate, but finally in a prolonged duel, our (French) frigate was sunk by the barely floating last British frigate (commanded by the youngster Maciek!).

    Some action pics below:
    Enemy in sight!

French team celebrating it's victory over the British. We did really well, earning a special wine potion for the older crewmen;)

Now you see a full scale action. Closer are the Filip's ship and mine, Darek is engaging British SoL and frigate.

This is the final stage of the battle, when both badly damaged frigates fight each other...

But it is the young English Captain who is steering to Glory! Maciek!

These were two fantastic intro battles.
I must confess the optional rule "Let the men drink!" was the most enjoyable one and saved many lives aboard.
My chaps are eager to try the Standard Rules next time.

looks like it was much fun for everyone.
That's exactly what I wanted for myself. (Unfortunately no time for playing at the moment and additionally no "enemies in sight" )

Thanks for the report and nice pictures.

Thanks chaps:) It was a very nice event indeed.
Since we all have a good WoG experience, the principles of movement and shooting were obvious to everybody. However starting with the basic rules was a smooth gateway to the game.
