Mr "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot" would be more likely to despatch a class 2 probe than a torpedo. That was the bloke with the wig

Hope you guys aren't planning to beat up on DA Bears again next Sunday.
Vegas shows the game straight up, even after yesterdays embarrassment.

While I support the Packers I avoid watching them as every time I show fan interest they bomb. DA Bears took care of them quite handily at Soldiers Field I believe back in November. Should be an interesting game. Last nights snow storm game certainly was.

There's a line from the movie _Conspiracy_ which applies here:

"We must all trust the good Lord to save us from the Italians." [Heydrich]

Catalyst Game Labs: Given how badly they screwed up the _BT_ universe, someone was expecting them to not screw up a KS?

KS in general: At this stage, the only way I will support a KS without reservation is if Howard Tayler is running it -- his two _Schlock Mercenary_ projects are the only ones which have arrived roughly-on-time. (Yes, that does include folks hereabouts.)

Tea is disgusting. Where's my Mountain Dew Throwback? >;)

Comes of studying language, sociology, and similar -- you'd be amazed how many otherwise-innocuous phrases have "other" contexts depending on who's using them. Not to get P******al, but: When you hear some people ranting about how Word [X] is "code" for Meaning [Y], this is where it comes from.

Thread drift here on the Anchorage is pretty much standard fare.

To answer your question though, no, still no ships. I also verified that UPS delivers on Christmas Eve, so it's looking like nothing is coming here until 2014.

Not only did I not receive any SoG shipment today, but I missed a sizable WoW shipment while out this afternoon. I now have to wait until the 26th to pick that up from the post office. I was leaning on it as a panacea for my SoG deficiency.

Now, what should I play over the next few days?

If the package was delivered by our regular mail lady, I have complete confidence it would have been delivered correctly. Same with our regular FedEx guy. I get a little uneasy about others, based off past experience. So first thing Thursday morning, I will take the note to the post office, receive my WoW planes and WoW playing mats, and smile. It will be nice to finally have a pair of the original mats. We really like them.

UPS delivered my package as well. The box looks smaller than I thought. Oh we'll, I didn't get to open because I had to go to church. I will now wait until tomorrow, for Christmas Day. I do hope everyone else get theirs the day after Christmas. I don't think UPS delivers tomorrow but I did see quite a few UPS trucks out and about at 7:10 pm?

Here's an interesting story today on UPS delivery delays. While I certainly wanted my SoG ships in time for the Holidays it sounds like in some cases very important medical shipments did not make it through as anticipated.

Anybody who ordered anything in the last week or two who complains it didn't make it in time pretty much has themself to blame, but that's never the popular choice of blame.

Delivery at any time of the year can be problematic, but if you think last minute orders will arrive 'as promised' at this time of year you're deluding yourself.

However, it can work just the opposite. I ordered some matte varnish for my ship painting last Sunday (22nd), I received a notice that delivery would take place between 12-27 and 1-2, but in fact, the item arrived here on Tuesday the 23rd before I got that email notice. Weird.

Not really Jim, some companies (the smart ones) over estimate their delivery times, add on a few days. Result is they look good becaues they deliver early most of the time.

Same way as every other Seahawks los this season: they got cocky and careless, and proceeded to hand the other team the win on a silver platter. NEVER underestimate the ability of a Seattle sport team to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory...

Could very well be. This company has been very fast in the past, so if you ever need art supplies I recommend the folks at Dick Blick Art Supplies.

As I carry on waiting for my set to even be dispatched, I look forward to seeing what other people think of their sets. Please can people post some pictures of their games as they play them over the coming days? I'm surprised how few pictures have been put up since people have received their sets. Pictures and peoples first impressions would be great and help stave off the frustration of not having the game yet.

    Cheers guys.

Just had a thought and looked up UPS holidays here in the USA, to set up expectations. Apparently New Years Eve is also a holiday for UPS ground. Only Air packages get delivered/moved on December 31. :lame:

So anybody further than 2-days out from Ft. Wayne, gets their ships next year.

But even taking the holiday USPS ground works and UPS ground doesn't into account, my ships should get here by Thursday if there are only 3 business days left (as shown on my tracking page), not Friday 1/3/2014 - Tomorrow 12/27, Monday 12/30, Thursday 1/2. It's at their Hodgekins, IL hub as of 11:56pm on 12/26.

From Hodgkins, I usually get it in 2-3 days. Here's hoping they're using the Scottie method.

There is also the question of what days the warehouse folks are actually working.

They may well have been closed yesterday and today.

Someone on the KS Update #56 page is claiming their local game dealer is listing SoG products as "In Stock". While I don't believe this is true the reaction from other backers is predictably negative. I hope Ares comments on this asap.

My only reason for going there today was to see if there's any word on our shipping update. Still nothing, and as Bruce has suggested I do wonder if the warehouse is even open this week?
