Ed, I see you have a new bit to your flag.
Jim, I was lucky to be on board H.M.S. Victory that day in the morning. We had the run of the ship, but not Nelsons quarters. They were being made up for the banquet. It was a day not to forget. It is my birthday today as then. WHAT A BIRTHDAY PRESANT

That video gave me the chills as I pictured being onboard a ship receiving such a broadside. it's hard to imagine the potential carnage.

Trafalgar? Hmm, which one was that?...Nope, cant recall anything significant about the name, must have been some minor skirmisher I missed. Nothing to see here, move on, let's talk about fine French naval architecture, the beauty of Paris in the summer...anything but Trafalgar and Leipzig anniversaries in the same week....and they bloody happen every year!

Hi All,
I'm going to be a party poo-per. On the day I saw them putting the squibs on the plastic gun barrels on the Victory's decks!
Some years ago I meet "Barack". The largest smooth bore firing cannon in the U.K. He rides a flat-bed and weights in at 1 1/2 tonnes. For a long time he could not fire as it was thought that the barrel was honeycombed. X-ray's showed it was not so, but a build up of residue over a number of years. I was beside him on the day he roared fully for the first time in years. At Kirby Hall, some of the halls windows broke and the punch to the chest from the pressure and the noise was something I will not forget. If this was one blank firing gun in a field. I can only think what it must of been like on-board one of Victory's gun decks. On my cats life, not as in the fireworks from her that night.
