This is a darn good storage idea.
Quick measurement shows a VHS tape is a convenient two 5th rate boxes tall and one 3rd rate box wide.

I've been buying up Black Seas models lately. They are releasing new models every few months. Xebecs, Russian ships, 6th rates, etc. Downside is I'm never going to get them all painted and rigged.
I feel like we need more real world examples of Carronades -vs- Cannons firing side by side. I propose to start a new youtube channel to conduct actual test firing of all the 18th century naval...
What we need is a 14 gun brig and a 32 gun Xebec. In the same box. Would make everything better.
This is great news. Thank you.
This post needs more pictures of icebreakers

Borrowing from the Wikipedia:
'The Action of 6 May 1801 was a minor naval engagement between the 32-gun xebec-frigate El Gamo of the Spanish Navy under the command of Don Francisco de Torris and...
HMS Speedy -vs- El Gamo - Would get us our missing 32 gun Xebec
Agreed. We need small merchant ships and a xebec too. :)
There are dozens of good scenarios we could write for protecting convoys against small privateers, galleys, gun boats and the like.
It feels like a year since the last release of ships. Is there any news or rumor of a Fifth Wave?

Lady Washington -vs- Hawaiian Chieftain - One of the fellows from our fencing group is the gunner on LW.
I saw these two this morning on the Bremerton waterfront:

They get around various local ports during the summer and occasionally go out and shoot at each other. I'll try to catch a...
And I just ordered 5 more ships....
Thanks Bilge Rat. ;)
I wonder if unpainted models would have been a better idea? Cheaper to produce and easier for us to modify.
I can imagine buying blank 74s by the dozen and customizing them as needed.
Thanks for that construction picture. I hadn't realized how they went together.
I imagine the 3d printers will only get better and cheaper. If the current consumer printers aren't ready for...
Lately I've been wondering about 3D printing and miniature gaming. I'm looking forward to the day I can print up my own copy of the Leopard and Chesapeake. I'm not so keen on having to paint them...
Thanks for putting this together. I've been wondering about the scale of the ships in wave 3. The sizes of these ships when compared side by side just doesn't look right.
Three days of news about three new ship classes. What are they going to announce tomorrow morning?
Another post just went up - Spanish First Rates shipping in November too.
SGN Facebook page says there should be new ships out in November. British 4th rates - Portland class
I can finally get 'the Horrible Old Leopard'.
I think there is a good solo scenario here.
Franklin Expedition: 1845 - ?
British:
HMS Erebus (Hecla class bomb vessel)
HMS Terror (Vesuvius-class bomb vessel)
Special Rules:
Some interesting news from up north - they've located the wreck of HMS Terror.
...
How about the Battle of Lissa?
Very happy to have 'The Horrible Old Leopard' in the next wave.
Let's add to the bottom of the list: 6th rates, sloops, and brigs please.
There are limitless scenarios involving smaller ships protecting or raiding convoys of merchants. Or 2-3 of these...
