I don't think the Royal Navy started using port until the mid 1800s or so.
You mean the 5 veer taken aback card? I answered my own question in the 2nd post. We initially missed the part in the rules that said to place it at the stern slot of the base for 2nd hourglass,...
What's wrong with the card? You do realize that I'm using a B maneuver deck and the page in the rulebook is showing an A maneuver deck card? My card is oriented to the second hour glass if that's...
Here's another QRS on BGG. It's the best designed to date but I prefer the comprehensiveness of Zarathud's.
Link to different QRS on BGG.
Page 24 (standard rules). 1st paragraph. "Players may not check the attitude to the wind before choosing the maneuver card. They are only allowed to check the attitude during the movement phase."
"Rear of the ship." whoops! Figured it out.
We just had an instance where the French are taken aback for the second turn using a veer of 5 on the (original)planned maneuver. Does the ship really turn around 180 degrees? Or did I miss something...

I'm hearing it and I still can't say it!
Steve (the guy who created the sheet) posted on BGG that he included that as a house rule, due to double shot being more dangerous to fire. It's not in the rulebook.

I happened across this Advanced Rules reference sheet on Boardgamegeek this morning. Forgive me if this is a repost, it was so well done I just thought I'd share.

In all fairness they're not terribly expensive ($3.99). I ordered some extras (mostly because I plan to run a large battle at Huzzah) and kept the backing paper on the bottom for extra reinforcement....
I used a very small dot of rubber cement near the bottom of the peg. I let it dry for a minute before inserting it in the base. It provides a tight fit but you can remove it afterwards, if you need,...
That's going to one big ship! Can't wait!
On a whim I placed a dot of Elmer's rubber cement on the peg of one of the ships and let it dry (so the solvent wouldn't fog the clear plastic plate when placing it on the base). Now the ship fits...
My only dissatisfaction with SoG is with the bases. I find the bases difficult to grasp, being too smooth for fingertips dried out by the New England winter. I also dislike how easily the ships turn...
Nice work on the rigging!
I'll probably create a hang tag of sorts on card stock. Something along the lines of these, possibly using this font.
I realize many of us who Kickstarted SoG received 3 (or 5 for Captains) damage counter bags as rewards. For those of you who are coming aboard from the retail market or don't want to drop that much...
May 18th (two days too late for me to have them for Huzzah! Con)
Now that I have my Kickstarter copy (and extras) I'm interested in ordering additional ships to mod for use as pirates and/or privateers. Unfortunately most of my historical info points to the...
I know what you're referring to... FFG uses that same fastener in many of their games that I own (LotR LCG, Bloodbowl Team Manager, etc...). In this case it's not about the effort need to connect the...
I received my Kickstarter copy on Monday and I've been punching out the cardboard bits and such. There's not much in the way of assembly but the instructions indicate that there's a round cardboard...
The play mat arrived Saturday. My son just called me at work and said that the "big box" arrived from Sails of Glory via USPS. Two hours at the office to go!
Will these be available in retail? I couldn't pony up more than $130 for the Earlybird Lt. level at the time. I was kind of banking on them being available in the retail channel.
