Spanish Port in the colonies.

Hello all!
Today I finished a very special custom ... my first port in 1/1200!
It is a small port in the Spanish colonies. In this case, I had to adjust the size of the port town to a small box of chocolates.
So I had to separate the external dock and the harbor.

1. Based on a specific port city, or a representational "generic"?
2. What all lines did you use for the buildings?

Whatever the answers, this is beautiful work, and I would certainly be proud to display it on my table. :)

1. No, this port it is generic. My client sent me a plane and I budgeted.
2. I have used Lagton buildings, both nineteenth century buildings as the ancient buildings.

That is utterly amazing, fantastic detail and I do like the pic of the ship leaving harbour. Makes it for me.

I can just envisage that on my table with the new Morro castle commanding the entrance on its prominence.
We are going to have to start work on this for next years shows Neil.

Love your harbour. But hate the step of your base onto the sea board/table. I used steel plate. See below,

Also the Langton harbour dock-side match the board that the town sits on. So no steps.

Yes Rory, for those dates I used PVC foam 3mm but now I've got PVC foam 2 mm and 1 mm. Now I can do the step softer.

I hope this works? If not PM me. Along time ago in a place called "History" we used paper to show information. This is an old catalogue of the harbour pieces from Langton's. Forget the prices. I do not think I'm doing anything wrong in showing this. As it can only help Rob Langton sale his work

Do not put yourself down. You can buy the harbour as a whole in one set. (I did add 1 bit of extra harbour wall and some extra dock-side plates to give more room to the harbour front. I added the castle to give the look of the harbour being around for a long time) Most of the buildings come as rows with the odd single house and church. If you can paint a regiment of 25mm or 15mm figs, you can paint a row of houses. Julian uses one colour for his! I picked a colour and did the odd colour wall and roof on each row. Both ways work. I would say if you are not sure, add a row. As we forget how small streets where. In the U.K./Europe we can see this a lot in old cities and towns. You in the States like your open wide streets. Also shading dips help too. 3 plus colours, one being black. Lot of copper roofs for big buildings which goes green over time. Black doors and windows. Your away!
If I had time, space and money I would love to make the town into a city and make it 2 to 3 times deeper and add city walls to it too! Alas! not to be!

We all started with one or two small pieces. If you are lucky you stop at that and are happy! Or you get a little anal like me, or get smart like Julian and sale them. See my answer to Kenneth #31 on this thread.
